NY Fashion Week| Mens SS16
…And that is a wrap!
We did it! After much blood, sweat and tears. Ok no blood or tears but definitely sweat (you would sweat too if you were surrounded by 12 immaculate male models) we successfully produced another great show for the very first “Men’s Fashion Week” in New York.
This year was the first year the Council of Fashion Designers of America decided to launch New York Fashion Week: Men’s (a brave move as it took London many years before they were awarded with their own showcase for Men’s fashion). I guess one could say that New York have been inspired by London’s success story! This standalone showcase for American men’s fashion took place from July 13th – 16th at Skylight Clarkson Square. We here at Evil Genius choose July 14th to showcase our designers in two back to back shows. Our venue was the beautiful sun drenched white gallery called, Rogue Space in Chelsea.
We had the pleasure of showcasing the 2016 spring/summer collections for two of our clients; Artistix Jeans and Edinger Apparel.
Greg Polisseni is the man behind Artistix Jeans. He has fused his passion for both art and fashion into an amazing clothing line. He showcased 12 looks along with 8 of his original art work pieces.
Edinger Apparel is a vibrant merging of East Coast sophistication with West Coast chill designed by Erik and Emily Nelson. Their 2016 spring/summer collection was inspired by two road trips Erik and Emily took on the east and west coast. They showcased 12 swim wear apparel items fashioned with jewellery from City Soldier 32.
We were very privileged on the day to be joined by many leading industry professionals such as Andy Hilifiger.
Here at Evil Genius, we like our events to be wickedly buzz-worthy and even though we weren’t permitted to use the laser beams or release the piranhas from the tank for our fashion shows, I think we can still say everything was a success!!
Who knows what we’ll have in store for our clients next year!
